Croatan Investments, a sponsor of Delaware statutory trust offerings and other private placements, has hired Ben Bartlett as senior vice president of transactions.
In addition to identifying, underwriting, and structuring investments across the company’s portfolio, Bartlett lead Croatan’s build-for-rent division.
“With the recent addition of Ben Bartlett and his master-planned community and land development experience, we have substantially expanded our internal [build-for-rent] execution capabilities,” said Paul Van, chief executive officer. “We can now pursue land acquisition and development opportunities to complement our expertise in acquiring existing assets. We believe this broader skillset gives us an edge in sourcing the most attractive [build-for-rent] deals at the best values across the market cycle.”
Prior to joining Croatan Investments, Bartlett was the CEO of Convergence Investments, where he was responsible for all corporate leadership for a real estate private equity fund focused on the development of residential master planned communities across the country. During his tenure, he developed more than 2,000 single-family units across multiple projects in the mid-Atlantic and Texas, the company said.
Earlier in his career, Bartlett served as vice president of operations for Artemis Real Estate Partners, where he was responsible for corporate operations initiatives including the development of a business intelligence platform with a focus on property, fund, and portfolio level financial performance.
Bartlett holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Towson University.
