Baxon Capital to Launch Southwest Florida-Focused Opportunity Zone Fund

Baxon Capital LLC, a real estate investment management firm, announced plans to launch an opportunity zone fund focused on investments in southwest Florida.

Baxon Capital LLC, a real estate investment management firm, announced plans to launch an opportunity zone fund focused on investments in southwest Florida.

The federal opportunity zone program was created to attract private investments in lower income areas by providing potentially significant tax incentives to investors.

Baxon’s senior management team includes chief executive officer Jason Schwartz, a former Goldman Sachs investment banker and hedge fund executive, and chief investment officer Daniel Barres, a real estate investor, developer, and entrepreneur with experience in the southwest Florida market, the company said.

“Southwest Florida is a standout market nationally. It is a highly attractive location for real estate investment with a robust commercial ecosystem that continues to expand,” said Schwartz. “This is our backyard, so we are particularly excited about the significant impact that opportunity zone investing with the right expertise can have in the region.”

Headquartered in Fort Myers, Florida, Baxon Capital focuses on residential, commercial, and opportunity zone investments. Baxon manages diversified real estate portfolios for institutional and individual investors via private investment funds and managed accounts.
