Advisor Group Hires Former LPL Exec to Lead Wealth Management Platform

Advisor Group, one of the nation’s largest networks of independent financial advisory firms, has hired Micah Wei to serve as the vice president of wealth management sales, where he will create and execute internal sales strategy for Advisor Group’s wealth management platform for advisors.

Wei is based in company’s Phoenix headquarters and will lead the sales and distribution efforts on existing and new platforms such as an updated client discovery process (including financial planning), a digital onboarding solution for advisors and clients, and new investment solutions.

Wei has more than 15 years of experience in the investment management and financial services industry, and prior to joining Advisor Group, he served as associate vice president of sales marketing at LPL Financial where he was responsible for promoting the firm’s advisory and product solutions, as well as developing advisor training programs in response to the DOL’s fiduciary rule.

Previously, he served as senior vice president of the advisory consulting group at First Allied Securities Inc., where he led sales and marketing of the firm’s multi-billion-dollar fee-based wealth management business.

Wei earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and business from the Virginia Military Institute and holds a certified investment management analyst designation, as well as FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 certifications.
