HighTower Recruits $230 Million Advisory Team

Registered investment advisor HighTower Advisors announced that The Keith Group, a Pennsylvania-based RIA with $230 million in client assets under management, has joined the firm. The team was previously affiliated with Merrill Lynch.

The Keith Group is led by managing director Kevin Keith, who spent 22 years as a senior vice president of wealth management, wealth management advisor, and portfolio manager at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch. He specializes in portfolio and investment management, personal financial planning, wealth preservation and transfer solutions, and retirement/defined benefit plan sponsorship and has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.

“Our clients’ best interests are our team’s top priority. The opportunity to serve those interests, uninhibited by many of the conflicts and problems that are common to the traditional Wall Street business model, is what drew us to HighTower,” said Keith.

Last week, HighTower recruited Miami-based True Wealth Advisory Group, a team with $500 million in client assets, previously affiliated with J.P. Morgan. True Wealth is headed by founder and CEO Marc Shachtman, former executive director and senior banker at J.P. Morgan Private Bank.
