GWG Hires Two Industry Execs to Lead Distribution

Sponsor of non-traded life settlement investment offerings GWG Holdings, Inc (GWG) recently announced a couple of new hires to lead its capital markets group. Mark V. Peterson will serve as Head of Capital Markets and Betsy Ward as Director of Business Development.

Peterson and Ward will lead GWG’s distribution team with its $1 billion L Bond offering which launched in January 2015.

“GWG is extremely pleased to have these two experienced financial professionals join our efforts at empowering consumers and investors to benefit from the value of the secondary market for life insurance,” said Jon Sabes, GWG Chief Executive Officer, continuing, “We are fortunate that these very qualified individuals will lead and manage our key account relationships, and work closely with our growing network of broker dealers, and financial and investment advisors.”

Petersen boasts over 25 years of experience in financial services in retail and institutional sales. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of national accounts for Behringer plus held executive roles at CNL Financial and Franklin Square, among other firms.

“I am excited to join GWG as I see the value of the platform and how it provides both investors and advisors solutions for their financial planning needs,” commented Petersen.

Ward’s focus will be expanding GWG’s national key accounts and providing support to existing broker-dealer partners. She provides 23 years of financial services experience most recently as Director of Business Development for a non-traded REIT offering.

“I was familiar with GWG and was watching the firm grow. I could see innovative things were happening and I wanted to be a part of it,” said Ward.

GWG offers advisors and investors access to a non-correlated asset in life settlements. Additionally, the company offers seniors with policies they no longer need or can afford, an opportunity to sell at a rate typically higher than surrender values.
